May sunset river valley drive
Drama sweeps the sky the clouds smeared pastel against the backdrop
of sunset brilliant perfect
Color bursts inspiration
Soul shaking vision deep trumpeting the end of a day
the beginning of a night
My sweetheart and I leisurely drive a country dirt road
on the way to share moments and times
A rain washed rural road pitches the car back and forth
We drive slow awed by the river valley below
listening to Dylan live Halloween 64
Music, art, expression of the life around us, the center of our lives
We watch the show in the sky unfolding multiple acts
uninterrupted eyeball candy, the nectar of life
Dripping down the remaining blue vastness,
dripping down through the pastel swashed clouds
dripping down into this river valley, right on the road
hitting our car
Nectar flowing in color electric washing over everything
as we drive pitching up and down
Listening to Derek and the Dominoes live Filmore East
Clapton dropping into the vision
as he dropped through the cords and frequencies unconscious, subconscious,
Almost like he wasn’t there in New York 1970
Almost like he was in the car with us with the sunset lazy river valley drive
Wispy smoke lingers luxurious out of my mouth,
silky velvet spreading out against the vent air
Looking like the clouds now almost disappeared in the sky, reappearing in the car,
The beautiful friend next to me passes the smoke
back and forth
as we slow drive
Looking down the river valley, watching the glorious,
inhaling the glorious with each puff,
Feeling part of the glory
Ready to share moments and times with each other
Spreading the color further into the night
Warming everyone who even sees us
because they see the sunset in our eyes, the glory beaming forth
Making me blush smile giggle the inside child
who knows the good stuff of life, dips their entire face, body, soul in the good stuff of life
and laughs out loud at how good it is
