FauveArts mission is to bring Oswald's work to the public.

Any explanation, theory or such, other than pursuing our own joy,  that tries to justify what we do and why is ridiculous.

We do what we do here, as in life, for the hell of it.  We are privileged to live free and try to contribute inspiration in everything we do.

We will share our expressions with the widest audience possible while looking for patronage, support, or rejection for this type of brass ring unexplainable life pursuit attempt.

Catherine Oswald keeps studio space on her 80 + acre ranch bordering the vast Yolla Bolly Wilderness Area in Northern California.

Established in 1995, Artist owned  FauveArts has formed caring relationships with art lovers in places such as New York, San Francisco, Aptos, Carmel, London, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Palo Alto, Seattle, Portland, Del Mar, La Jolla, Miami, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and many others.

The excerpts from the books: Postcard Journal of a Traveling Artist and Haiku on a Dime... are presented to seek sponsorship, comment and/or publishing support for the books. For more information on the book, please refer to the Postcard Journal Information Page on this site.

The meaning of 'fauve' in French is, literally, wild beast. It was a term of derision used to insult artists like Cézanne and Matisse for their wild use of color and the raw unfinished expression they presented.

We enjoy terms of derision and insult as well as any and all rejections: shows us we are on the right track.

Poem #10

Vonnegut chess

on a cloudy turbulent day

ridiculous things passing through me

like an energy flu

when I meet a soul

beauty, gosh, transition

innocence, control

turning the day yellow

almond glow

gosh,

Going to sleep beautiful, shhh!!

It was like you were on a pedestal

Me looking up and all

crick in my neck

Sometimes the best transition is no transition at all

gosh

I want to be art

Rumi notes on love bus tickets collaged on my fridge

Messages from Siddhartha

Ridilin, driving, and love in back ass motels

Never surrender

Ask permission for your life

life won’t ever tell you anything ever again

dude,  god , dude

and gosh again

Vonnegut chess

 No….Look!!

Eyes in the back of my head

Love my only blindspot

Why are you surprised I tell you things you already know

You can’t scare me inside your own head

Vonnegut chess

drives you mad

with the pleasures of friendship

love

and the itching pain of the reach

for that brass ring life

making stretch effort sweat

the gosh

life brings in exclamation sigh

every day

moshe, 2004
